Planning to head out shopping on Black Friday? You may want to plan ahead.
Many retailers have already released their Black Friday flyers on the company websites; other ads have simply surfaced on Black Friday websites. All of the ads released or leaked so far show that a little planning will go a long way.
Target's ad just surfaced Friday morning. Wal-Mart released their ad earlier this week.
This year, Wal-Mart will be having three deal "events" with the first beginning at 8:00pm on Thanksgiving. The second will be at 10:00pm Thursday and the third will be at 5:00am Friday Morning.
Scott Lawrence, the President and CEO of Lawrence and Schiller Advertising/Marketing agency, said he doesn't think the transition to earlier, multiple sales events will mean more Black Friday shoppers.
"You're going to get pretty much the same amount of shoppers throughout that time. So whether its spread out from 10:00 pm Thursday night until Friday, it might alleviate some crowd stuff, but it's going to take some of the fun out of it. Half the fun was thinking about it all day Thursday and then going out and doing it on Friday. So we'll see how that all plays out," said Lawrence.
Lawrence said it could very likely mean customers will spend more money. Instead of standing outside to wait in line, customers will have more time in the stores to shop.
