VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) - The University of South Dakota is celebrating the grand opening of its new resource center for student veterans on Tuesday.
Open to all current military members, veterans and their families, the Student Veterans Resource Center is located at the Temporary Student Center 117D on the USD campus.
The center includes study space. Veterans, current military members and their families can also gather information about benefits and share their experience with other students on campus.
USD will hold an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. USD President James W. Abbott is scheduled to speak at the ceremony.
Jason R. Dean, Veterans coordinator at USD, says the center shows USD's commitment to student veterans.
