Skyforce Open Training Camp

Posted: Updated:

The Sioux Falls Skyforce have opened training camp.  First year head coach Joel Abelson has 14 players in camp competing for ten spots.

Among those, 36 year old Troy Hudson who played for the Force in the CBA days in the late 90's, and went on to play twelve seasons in the NBA.  Hudson is trying to make a comeback.

Sioux Falls top draft pick, guard Andrew Goudelock, who played all of last season in the NBA with the Lakers, should provide a spark.

Former Minnesota Gopher Dan Coleman made the training camp roster at an open tryout.

The Skyforce have three players back from last year, guard Gabe Pruitt was the biggest contributor for a team that hopes to get back to the D-League playoffs after missing for two straight seasons.

"We've got a nice blend of veteran players like Troy Hudson,  to go with young players and our draft picks.  We have overhauled the roster, there aren't many players back from last year.  Things have gone well, everyone is excited to get going." says head coach Joel Abelson.

"I've been in the NBA so there isn't pressure to get back.  I'm here to have fun and play the game." says Troy Hudson.

"I think we've got a good group with a lot of energy."  says Gabe Pruitt.

The Skyforce open the new season November 24th at home against Iowa.
