Our Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week is a proven asset for the Webster Area High School in Webster.
He has represented the school on four athletic teams: football, basketball, track and golf.
And he is also a force in the classroom...where he is currently carrying a 3.75 grade point average. His name is Brady Bury and you're going to meet him right now.
Brady Bury knows a thing or two about staying busy in school and working hard. Especially this year, when he is tackling his traditional class load plus two extras. "I have two college classes: college psychology and into to computers. I like that cause you can..gives you a taste of what's to come. You get to work at your own pace. I like being able to do that."
Usually, Brady's pace is pretty quick. He likes to understand ideas and concepts as quickly as possible and that holds true in the area of math, where teacher Lori Wagner told us some pretty neat about Brady. "As a teacher, I know that Brady is just a student who is willing to go that extra mile and look to see..he knows what his weaknesses are at and he is willing to take that extra step to improve on those weaknesses and make it a better thing for himself."
Brady loves sports and he loves school and he says in a perfect world, he will be able to combine those two as he looks towards a future career as an athletic trainer. "I like athletics a lot and it would be nice to get into athletic training and stuff and I like exercise, running around and stuff. It's interesting."
And for being named our Scholar of the Week, Brady will receive a $100 scholarship from Lake Region Association Cooperative....which is a local Touchstone Energy cooperative.
