STURGIS, S.D. (AP) - A Sturgis woman has pleaded guilty to stealing from her former employer in Rapid City.

Darcy Szymanski, 36, handled accounts for the investigative services company Kolbach and Associates. She was accused of taking more than $1,000 during her two years serving as business manager.

Prosecutors dropped forgery charges in exchange for her guilty plea to a charge of grand theft by embezzlement.

Szymanski faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine when she's sentenced on Dec. 20. She also will face restitution.
