Animals for sale at 2012's bison auction in Custer State Park

CUSTER, S.D. (AP) - The following animals are set to be sold Saturday at the annual buffalo auction in western South Dakota's Custer State Park. Crowds begin gathering at 9 a.m. MST for the 10 a.m. auction start at the buffalo corrals on Wildlife Loop Road.

-27 mature bred cows

-16 mature open cows

-43 2-year-old bred heifers

-Three 2-year-old open heifers

-Nine yearling heifers

-61 heifer calves

-62 bull calves

-19 yearling bulls

-Five 2-year-old grade bulls

-11 2-year-old breeding bulls

-17 burros
