Deputy Fire Marshal from Rapid City earns national accreditation

Posted: Updated:

A South Dakota Deputy Fire Marshal has earned accreditation from the International Association of Arson Investigators.

State Deputy Fire Marshal Cliff Dahl, stationed in Rapid City, earned accreditation as a certified investigator. Dahl has been with the State Fire Marshal's office for nine years. With the accreditation, Dahl becomes only the third certified fire investigator in South Dakota.

"This is a tremendous accomplishment, and we couldn't be happier for Cliff for his commitment to improving his professional skills,'' State Fire Marshal Paul Merriman said in a news release.

The International Association of Arson Investigators describes the CFI program as "a standard measure of an individual's competence in all phases of fire investigation.''
