Sioux Falls police are warning about a door-to-door scam of a guy allegedly raising money for his daughter who has cancer.
Office Sam Clemens said at least three people have reported a man trying to solicit money by going door to door. The man tells possible victims that his daughter, Sadie Matheson, has cancer and then asks for five to ten dollars.
Clemens said the man has an entire back story with enough details to convince people to give him money. However, Clemens said the daughter does not exist.
The suspect is described as a white male, 25-35 years of age, average build, and lives in Sioux Falls.
Clemens said police know who he is but they have not caught up with him yet.
