Posted: Updated:

Many people braved the cold temperatures tonight and headed to downtown Sioux Falls for

the Parade of Lights.

KFSY News  was there as people took in the festivities of this annual holiday tradition.

The cold, crisp air couldn't keep people away from attending the annual parade of lights

Jennie Goglin of Tyndall said "it's actually not too bad a night for this time of year and my family was home from North Dakota and we've got a three-year-old. We just want wanted to go and see the parade."

Goglin has a special way to keep warm.

"A three-year-old, they come in handy. I recommend one to everyone. You just hold them in your lap and they keep you pretty toasty," Goglin said.

But for those without a three-year-old, Pat Reichert said it's a good night for hot chocolate.  For a cause

"It would be a good thing to run out because then I know we made a lot of money for our project which is to build a school in Sudan, the Khor Wakow school in Sudan. So if we run out, we've made a lot of money for the school," Reichert said.

Stacy Weller says she wasn't going to let the cold weather stop her from having a good time.

"Well, I've already had one hot chocolate.... I have three jackets on, gloves and big boots, and a husband who's warm," Weller said.

Finding a creative way to keep warm seemed to be in order to enjoy this years Parade of Lights.
