Sioux Falls Walgreens fails liquor sting

A Walgreens in Sioux Falls failed a liquor sting that was conducted last Wednesday.

28 off-sale alcohol establishments were checked in the sting. Walgreens at 4900 South Cliff Avenue was the only business to fail the compliance check.

The clerk that sold to a minor was issued a citation for furnishing alcohol to a person 18 to 20 years old, and that person has to make a mandatory court appearance.

Businesses making sales to underage persons may face fines, suspensions, or loss of their liquor or malt beverage licenses.
