One person is dead and another is battling life-threatening injuries from a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 near Humboldt Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at about 9:59 this morning near Exit 379, one-half mile west of Humboldt. The names of those involved in the crash are being withheld until relatives have been notified.
According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, a 1999 Ford Ranger was traveling east on I-90 when the driver lost control and the vehicle slid off the roadway. The vehicle rolled numerous times before coming to rest in the westbound lanes of I-90.
Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle. The passenger received fatal injuries and the driver received life-threatening injuries.
According to the Department of Public Safety, speed and slippery road conditions were contributing factors to the crash. Alcohol was not a factor.
