Avera hosts Preemie Boutique

Having a newborn is tough, especially when the baby comes to early and needs extra time in the hospital.

To show support for those families who have to spend time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, two teachers from Lakeview Elementary in Cottonwood, Minnesota organized last night's Preemie Boutique at Avera. Both women gave birth to children prematurely and know the toll it can take.

The teachers had their classes collect Preemie clothing items to distribute to families in the NICU last night as part of the end of Prematurity Awareness Month.
