Tonight's Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week is Megan Williams, a senior at Russell-Tyler-Ruthton high school in Tyler, Minnesota. Megan has a 3.75 grade point average and is active in band, choir and FFA...just to name a few of her activities.
Megan Williams is a busy young woman who is taking a class load this year which is nearly completely comprised of college level course....and none of those classes are easy. "I plan on going to SMSU for ag business and accounting and so I'm taking ag business...college algebra...college English...college Chemistry...accounting."
And while all of these classes are challenging her now in different ways, they are also preparing her for the rigors of college. There will be no surprises when Megan heads off college next fall. And one of her science teachers, Sharon Jensen, says Megan is the definition of a perfect student. "Just an absolutely delightful young lady. She really tries to grasp the concepts..she tries to do as much as she can and she only comes to me when she gets really, really stuck."
Megan says after college, she wants to stay in Minnesota. She says being home is important to her. And she also tells us...she has a good idea of what she wants to do after college. "Probably either....I'll probably be working in an accounting firm or with a separate business....like as their accountant."
And for being named our Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week, Megan will receive a $100 scholarship from Lyon-Lincoln Electric Cooperative....which is a local Touchstone Energy cooperative.
