It's been almost three months since a Sioux Falls woman was gunned down outside of a local hair salon. Now, the salon is holding a benefit in her honor.
Amanda Connors, 24, was managing Cost Cutters when she was shot in front of the W 41st Street location on September 11, 2012.
After law enforcement found Connors shot in the parking lot, they found the gunman Tyrone Smith, 38, dead inside. Smith was a co-worker's ex-boyfriend and held up four other women in the salon, before letting them go and taking his own life inside.
Monday, December 3, that same Cost Cutters Salon will hold a Cut-A-Thon in honor of Amanda Connors.
WHEN: Monday, 10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Organizers ask for a minimum of $10 donations.
All proceeds will go to a cosmetology scholarship in honor of Connors at the Stewart School of Cosmetology.
