A Salem woman has died from an accident near Montrose early Monday morning.
The accident was reported at 3 a.m. Monday less than a mile west of Montrose along Highway 38. Amanda Heiberger, 28, died in the accident.
According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, Heiberger was driving a 2003 Chevy Impala westbound. Her vehicle left the roadway and entered the north ditch, where it struck a driveway, vaulted and rolled.
According to the Department of Public Safety, Heiberger was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. She was dead at the scene.
No further information was available. South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
McCook County Sheriff's Office and Montrose Emergency Medical Service assisted in response to the crash.
