A scholarship is being established in memory of a Sioux Falls salon manager who was shot and killed outside the business in September.
Amanda Connors, 24, was killed while trying to protect an employee from the employee's boyfriend. They say Tyrone Smith killed Connors, then held his girlfriend and her co-workers hostage inside the Cost Cutters Salon for about a half hour before killing himself.
The salon on Monday was donating haircut proceeds to the scholarship fund in Connors' honor at the Stewart School of cosmetology.
