Augustana College helps organize "Teen Town" in Sioux Falls

Posted: Updated:

This Holiday season you can help make sure area kids and teens have something to open on Christmas Day.

The Salvation Army's Toy Town program helps provide food and gifts for children through age twelve. That means teenagers do not receive gifts through this program. That's why in the past years the Holiday Clearing House worked with the Salvation Army's Toy Town to run another program called Teen Town. This year,Augustana College's Serving and Learning Together (SALT) organization is coordinating the Teen Town Program in conjunction with the Salvation Army's Toy Town project in Sioux Falls.

Teen Town allows parents to choose a gift for their teenager after they have selected gifts for their younger children through Salvation Army. Organizers with Augustana College hope to raise somewhere between 650 and 700 gifts in the $20-$25 dollar range for Sioux Falls teens this season. The gifts will need to be brought to Augustana College's Commons building.

You can drop off gifts at Augustana College or to sponsor a Teen organizers have a very simple form you can fill out online to donate money. To do so, just click the link on the left side of the screen.
