Help Project Warm-Up in Sioux Falls this weekend

Posted: Updated:

Last year the Sioux Falls School District identified over 1000 children as homeless. You can help those children get a warm blanket this Holiday season. Over the past 6 years Project Warm-Up has provided over 5000 new fleece blankets to area kids in need during the Holidays. Project Warm-Up organizers say they will be accepting donations of cash and/or fleece material for the 2012 Project Warm-Up this weekend.

The event is being held Saturday, December 8th from 11:00am until 4:00pm at Edison Middle School. The school is located at 2101 S. West Avenue in Sioux Falls. Volunteers are needed at the event as well and organizers want you to bring your sewing scissors.

If you want to donate fleece these are the sizes organizers say they need.

Infant size: 2 pieces of fleece measuring 1 1/4 yards each.

Child size: 2 pieces of fleece measuring 1 3/4 yards each.

High School/Adult size: 2 pieces of fleece measuring 2 yards each.

Checks can be made out to Project Warm-Up. Donations can be dropped off at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Edison Middle School, and the Instructional Planning Center.
