Fire crews say a home that went up in flames this morning near Garretson is likely a total loss.
Crews got the call around 7:15 Monday morning about the fire at 48628 257th Street. That's about four miles south of Garretson. Crews from several departments responded.
Clint Wood was asleep with his 5-year-old son when he heard a neighbor yelling. The neighbor ran into Wood's burning home to see if anyone was home. Wood says he "probably had only a minute or two left of his life."
Firefighters say the cold weather did have an impact on their work battling the flames.
The fire is still under investigation.
We'll have more from Wood about the fire and what's next for him and his family tonight on KSFY News at 6:00 and 10:00.
