Yankton man faces murder charge in October death

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - A Yankton man has been indicted on a second-degree murder charge in the death earlier this fall of another man from the city.

Darwin Jans, 57, is accused of assaulting Larry Goodman, 59, on Sept. 19. Goodman died Oct. 6 of what an autopsy concluded was a head injury.

Jans remains jailed on a $100,000 cash-only bond. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney. He faces life in prison if convicted.
