The Iowa Energy defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 102-80 Tuesday night. Paul Harris had a huge night with 34 points, 11 rebounds and five steals to help Iowa snap a four-game skid.
Iowa (3-7) jumped out to a quick 11-2 lead and led by as many as 13 points (25-12) in the opening quarter before settling for a 25-19 lead after one. Sioux Falls (7-4) went ahead 37-36 midway through the second quarter following a dunk from Philadelphia 76ers assignee Arnett Moultrie. Iowa led 55-51 at halftime behind 13 points and seven rebounds from Harris.
Iowa went on a 19-4 run to start the third quarter to take a 74-55 lead with 4:18 to go in the third. Sioux Falls cut the deficit to 12 points (79-67) early in the fourth quarter but Iowa maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the game and picked up their first road win of the season after six straight losses.
Chris Wright posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists while Morris Almond also scored 17.
Mark Tyndale posted a team-high 19 points off the bench. Hassan Whiteside added 17 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks in a reserve role.
Sioux Falls continues a three-game homestand Friday against Maine at 7 p.m. CT. Iowa returns home to face Los Angeles Friday at 7 p.m. CT.
