The investigation into the suspicious death of Sioux Falls toddler continues, but police said major developments could come soon.
On Monday, police and fire crews were called to 401 South Sycamore Avenue for a medical emergency. When they arrived they found a toddler not breathing and without a pulse.
Emergency crews were able to regain the toddler's heartbeat through rescue efforts and the child was taken to Avera McKennan Hospital. The 18-month-old died later Christmas Day.
Sioux Falls Police say an autopsy confirms blunt force trauma as the cause of death.
Police said another child and an adult were present at the time of the incident. The adult was the person who alerted authorities to the medical emergency.
No other information has been released, but Sioux Falls Police expect to release more information, including major developments, soon.
