The Maine Red Claws defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 106-94 Friday night. Maine outscored Sioux Falls 35-21 in the third quarter to break open a close game and improved to 6-1 on the road.
The game was tied at 14 apiece with four minutes to go in the opening quarter before Maine (9-4) went on a 14-4 run to take a 28-18 lead. After an Xavier Silas 3-pointer pushed the lead to 13 points, Sioux Falls (7-5) went on a 17-3 run to take a 35-34 lead. Maine led at halftime 52-49.
Maine led by as many as 22 points in the second half and Sioux Falls would only get as close as nine points (99-90) in the final quarter as they dropped their third straight home game.
DaJuan Summers posted season-highs in points (22) and rebounds (12) to lead the Red Claws. Silas contributed 19 points and six assists while Champ Oguchi added 16.
Sixers assignee Arnett Moultrie had his best game in Skyforce uniform with 18 points and five rebounds off the bench. Demetris Nichols scored a team-high 17 points while Gabe Pruitt recorded season-highs in points (13) and assists (8) off the bench.
