Sertoma Butterfly House celebrates 10 years

Posted: Updated:

Sunday, the Sertoma Butterfly House and Marine Cove is celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

In 2002, the facility opened as one of just two dozen butterfly houses in the country and have since grown, adding a marine cove in 2011.

The facility is non-profit, always relying on things like membership and admission fees as well as gift shop sales. Directors say they're pleased to share the facility, and it's progress, with the community.

"To see the community support, it means a lot for us. To see 10 years go by so quickly and everyone is still so excited about the butterflies and now the fish," Audrey Willard said.

Employees encourage everyone, if you haven't done so already, to visit the Sertoma Butterfly House and Marine cove for a whole new experience. They have lots of new changes on the way, including two new aquariums!
