Out in Pasadena, Calif., thousands prepare for one of American's greatest traditions, the 146th Annual Tournament of Roses parade.
This year, that event includes the Lincoln High School Marching Band, from Sioux Falls.
KSFY News acquired some video shot from Pasadena at the annual Bandfest competition. We also caught up with long-time directors Bob and Dan Carlson after the show.
Bob Carlson, who has been the band's director for 44 years, celebrated his last show, Sunday night. He says, while emotions were high, he couldn't be more proud of his students.
"I thought it was a great atmosphere. We were a little concerned about the rain but it turned out to be a great day. It was a wonderful experience for everyone and we were very happy with how the kids performed, today," LHS band directors Bob and Dan Carlson said.
Stick with KSFY News as we continue to stay in touch with the LHS band and its directors during their exciting experience in Pasadena.
