With the new year comes confetti and good times, but for Sioux Falls police it meant dealing out tickets to overzealous partiers this year.
The S.F.P.D. issued 142 tickets this between 8 PM New Years Eve, and 4 a-am New Years Day.
According to Lieutenant Jerome Miller these numbers were "substantially higher" than last year.
There are close to 50 complaint zones in the city and 17 additional officers were on duty to cover 30 of them.
Out of the 142 tickets, 15 were DWI's, 25 speeding citations, 7 alcohol open containers and 24 drivers were caught without insurance.
