The Pierre teen accused of shooting his classmate is scheduled to make an appearance in court on Friday.
16-year-old Braiden McCahren was indicted by a Hughes County grand jury on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
McCahren is accused in the Dec. 18 fatal shooting of 16-year-old Dalton Williams. McCahren also is accused of pointing a gun at a third 16-year-old boy who also was in the house at the time of the shooting.
He is scheduled to appear in court at 10:30 Friday morning before circuit judge John Brown.
McCahren is being held in jail without bond.
