The suspicious death of a man found in his Sioux Falls home is being investigated as a homicide.
Monday afternoon 50-year-old Crescencio Conde-Vargas, known asChris, was found dead in his home 1025 East 8th Street. Coworkers showed up there to find Chris, saying it was unusual for him to not show up for work.
The coworkers knocked on the door trying to get his attention. He said the coworkers saw Chris was inside but they could not determine his condition. The coworkers called police who entered the home to find suspicious activity had happened.
Sgt. Blaine Larsen, Sioux Falls Police said it looked like a pretty good struggle had happened inside the home. Larsen said it looked like the struggle happened sometime between Saturday and Sunday.
Larsen said an autopsy is being conducted, but it looked like the victim sustained head trauma. No weapons were found at the scene andLarsen said it look like no weapon was used.
Chris has been living in the Sioux Falls area since 2005. Larsen said it is believed that Larsen knew his attacker and was not a random house selected in the neighborhood.
Larsen said people in the neighborhood don't need to be worried.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide. Police said they are looking at several people right now, interviews are being conducted and coworkers and friends are being contacted.
