With the new year well underway, many of us have set out to complete those resolutions of improving our health.
Saturday Sam's Club helped its customers do just that. You could stop by Sam's in Sioux Falls and get five health screenings in the pharmacy, best of all, they were free.
The tests included glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index and vision. The screenings are valued at 100 dollars.
People we talked with said with the rising cost of health care and insurance, prevention is the key.
"Anytime you can find something ahead of time, get it treated before it gets worse is becoming the standard of health care is prevention," Jason Otta said.
"As you get older and know your family history, it's important to know your numbers. I have high cholesterol in my family and I'm lucky I'm a low one," Lynne Nelson said.
Sam's Club offers free health screenings of all types every second Saturday between January and October.
Both members and non-members are welcome.
