New Sioux Falls middle school to be named for George McGovern

Sioux Falls' newest public school will be named for one of South Dakota's most influential politicians. The future George McGovern Middle School is located on Maple Street in northwest Sioux Falls, just north of Marion Road.

The Sioux Falls school district approved the name today. McGovern was a three-term South Dakota senator and Democratic presidential candidate. He died in October at age 90.
