Avera McKennan Hospital and Sanford Medical Center have been recognized for top clinical performance nationwide.
Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center were among the top five percent of nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country, as measured by Healthgrades. By achieving this high level of performance, Avera McKennan has received Healthgrades' prestigious Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence.
Avera is the only hospital in South Dakota to receive the award. Healthgrades rated Avera McKennan as the best hospital in the state for over clinical experience. In addition, Avera McKennan ranks as the No. 1 hospital in South Dakota for six medical specialties.
Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota was the only facility in North Dakota to receive the honor.
