We have another reason to pat ourselves on the back in South Dakota...this according to the Washington Post.
The paper cites the Centers for Disease Control in pointing out that more than half of the people in the Mt. Rushmore state have received flu vaccinations. Massachusetts is the only other state to enjoy that distinction - which is attributed to its universal insurance coverage. South Dakota, however, simply has a history of high vaccination rates..
Iowa has high vaccination numbers as well, with 45% receiving the flu shot.
