Virginia lawmaker brings AK-47 into the state capitol

In Richmond, Virginia, a Democratic delegate to the statehouse, Joe Morrissey, brought a prop to illustrate his point about the Commonwealth's rather liberal gun laws.

It caught some of his fellow lawmakers by surprise and it was broadcast live on a local government TV channel. "So I brought an AK-47 with me...here's an ak-47 pointed at the ceiling unloaded ...In many places in the commonwealth you could walk with this down main street - loaded, and not be breaking the law."
