SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The city of Sioux Falls is spending $22,000 on a survey that Mayor Mike Huether says will reveal what the silent majority of citizens think about the city.
Questionnaires will go out over the next few weeks to 3,000 randomly selected residents of Sioux Falls. The questionnaires will seek input from residents on a variety of topics, like police, traffic, shopping, safety and recycling.
Results of the survey will be available in the spring.
Huether says the surveys will help the city measure progress and chart the city's future direction.
The National Research Center of Boulder, Colo., will conduct the survey by U.S. mail.
The city took part in similar surveys in 2008 and 2009.
