Feeding South Dakota is launching its own version of meals on wheels with its new mobile food pantry program.
The program kicked off Wednesday and will provide nearly 550,000 meals to individuals and families in need each year.
Some of the many distributions planned are McIntosh, Little Eagle, Lower Brule, Wanblee, Fort Thompson, and St. Francis.
About 7,000 pounds of food will be provided at each distribution site, allowing families to receive five days worth of supplies.
