NorthWestern Energy is asking people in the Willow Lake area to keep an eye out for suspicious activity, after some equipment was reported shot by a gun.
The Willow Lake area has experienced several outages recently. NorthWestern General Manger of Operations Mike Sydow said it appears someone is shooting bullets or pellets at electric equipment and infrastructure.
"This type of vandalism is dangerous to the general public and to the person causing the damage. We encourage anyone who observes suspicious behavior or has information concerning these or other incidents to please contact local authorities," Sydow said.
The company also reminds people to stay clear of power lines that look damaged or have fallen and to call (800) 245-6977.
