Saturday afternoon's chilly temperatures didn't stop one group from taking a dive, or 'plunge', for a good cause.
It was the annual Polar Plunge event to benefit the Parkston and South Dakota Special Olympics.
About 60 people jumped into the icy cold water, including the principal of Ethan School, Mr. Hawkins, because students rose to the challenge raising $2,000.
Organizers didn't pull this off alone, they had help from the National Guard and Mitchell's rescue crews were on-hand just in case.
The entire event raised around $25,000.
