Sioux Falls police responded to several accidents over the weekend and Monday morning due to slippery roads.

Officer Sam Clemens said over the weekend police responded to 42 different crash reports. Those calls came in between 8am and 7pm Sunday.

During the hours of 7am and 10am Monday there were seven crashes reported.

One reported accident early this morning near Harrisburg. It involved eight cars and required sheriff's deputies to assist. No one was hurt in the crash.

Advisories for freezing rain and wintry weather were issued for parts of eastern South Dakota. The rain was forecast to turn to snow later Monday, with heavy amounts possible in some areas.
