South Dakota man gets prison for promoting prostitution

Posted: Updated:

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota man who made how-to videos for prostitutes has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Circuit Judge Jeff Davis sentenced 35-year-old Jeramy Caron, of Summerset, on Monday to prison for promoting prostitution. Caron will also serve a concurrent two-year sentence for pimping as part of a plea agreement.

Pennington County deputy state's attorney Lara Roetzel says Caron would find women via a website. He would collect 35 percent of the women's earnings and pay some of the girls for sex.

Roetzel says that during his sexual encounters with some of the women, he would videotape them in order to produce videos showing "how to be a good prostitute."
