Iowa DOT urges travelers to Tweet/Facebook storm information

A winter storm with heavy snow is hitting the Hawkeye State and Iowa's Department of Transportation wants everyone to spread the word.

The department says it wants people to use Twitter and Facebook including using the agency's official twitter handle and hash tag in posts related to the storm.

They say social networking is helping travelers stay informed about traffic and road conditions.
