Watertown police search for pickup driver who struck pedestrian

Watertown police are asking for the public's help in finding a driver who hit a pedestrian and drove away Wednesday afternoon.

The accident was reported at approximately 3:30 pm at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Highway 20 NW in Watertown. Witnesses said a Black Dodge Ram extended cab pickup struck a person walking across 3rd Avenue.

Nelson Dahlgren received injuries to his hand and back. Dahlgren was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital for medical treatment.

Police are looking for a 1997-2001 black Dodge Ram extended cab pickup with lower chrome rocker panels. Witnesses said the pickup might also have red graphics on it.

The driver was described as a man wearing a baseball hat.
