A single story home is a total loss Sunday night after a fire ripped through, mid-morning.
The home sits along Kiwanis Avenue just north of Sioux Falls near the Renner area.
Fire crews say the flames started in the living room and spread quickly to the attic. The homeowner was the only one inside at the time but managed to get out in time, suffering minor burns to his arm.
Crews arrived to the burning home around 10:30 a.m. and had much of the fire out within about two hours.
"We made entry and got the fire knocked down as good as we could. now we're just venting the roof and working on the attic," Renner Fire Chief Mike Schmitz said.
Firefighters from Baltic, Renner and Crooks responded to the scene.
