Two Sioux Falls men arrested for stealing copper in George, IA

Two Sioux Falls men were arrested in George, IA for allegedly stealing copper wiring and pipe from businesses and homes.

Robert Max, 45, and Cody Peterson, 24, were arrested Saturday. Max is charged with Theft in the 2nd Degree- which is a Class D Felony—Possession of Burglar Tools and No Valid Driver's License. Peterson is charged with Theft in the 2nd Degree and Possession of Burglar Tools.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, the men were stealing copper wiring and pipe from George businesses and possibly residences. Their vehicle was also seen in Larchwood, IA.

The investigation is ongoing. The Lyon County Sheriff's Office urges residents to contact the sheriff's office if they are missing copper or tools.
