VERMILLION, S.D.—University of South Dakota men's basketball team will take on the Montana State Bobcats Feb. 24 in Bozeman, Mont., as part of the 11th annual BracketBusters, a three-day men's college basketball event pitting potential NCAA championship hopefuls against each other.
It will be the second meeting between the two programs. The first occurred during the 1946-47 season. The Bobcats of the Big Sky Conference are 10-10 this season with a 7-5 mark in league play. The Coyotes are 8-15 overall and 4-7 in the Summit League. Shawn Dirden, an assistant coach for the ‘Yotes last season, will be an assistant for the Bobcats in this one.
As part of the agreement, all of the BracketBusters home teams will play a return game at the home facility of their opponent within the next two seasons. That means the DakotaDome in Vermillion will host a Montana State and South Dakota rematch within the next two seasons.
