More US troops dying of suicide than in combat

Posted: Updated:

More American soldiers are dying of suicide than in combat.

The Pentagon says there were 325 confirmed or potential suicides among active-duty and non-active army personnel in 2012.

Army officials say total military deaths in Afghanistan for the year were 313.

The Army's deputy chief of staff, Lieutenant General Howard Bromberg, says the Army "continues to take aggressive measures" to help soldiers and officers suffering mental trauma.
