Watertown teen arrested in last week's hit and run involving pedestrian

Watertown Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy for a hit and run accident that happened last week.

The afternoon of January 30, the teen allegedly hit Nelson Dahlgren, of Watertown. Nelson was walking westbound across 3rd Ave, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Highway 20. Nelson sustained injuries to his hand and back.

Police developed a lead reference that led them to the arrest.

The teen is facing a Hit and Run charge, a Class 6 Felony that carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine. He is also charged with driving with No Valid Driver's License, a Class 2 Misdemeanor carrying a maximum 30 days imprisonment and a $500 fine.

The teen was allowed a person recognizance bond.
