1. 8.0 magnitude earthquake hits near Solomon Islands
An 8.0 magnitude earthquake struck near the Solomon Islands overnight, followed by several aftershocks and a small tsunami. The village of Santa Cruz reportedly suffered some damage.
2. Explosive devices located in Ala. bunker
Two explosive devices were located inside the underground bunker where a young boy was rescued and his abductor was killed earlier this week. The boy, Ethan, celebrates his 6th birthday today.
3. Gas prices climb in South Dakota
Marilyn Buskohl with AAA of South Dakota says our state along with other Midwestern states are seeing gas prices climb because of rising crude oil costs in the region and decreased gasoline supplies.
4. Sandy Hook victims to receive Presidential Medals of Freedom
Presidential medals of freedom will be awarded to the slain Sandy Hook Elementary School principal and four teachers who were killed in the shooting in Dec. 14. The medals will reportedly be presented to family members at the White House this month.
5. Fort Pierre man claims he was fired for speaking out about disrespect to flag
A school custodian was fired from his job at the Fort Pierre school Monday. He says it's because of a photo he posted on Facebook of the American flag rolled up into a ball.
