Former student sues USD fraternity over alleged hazing incident

A former USD student filed a lawsuit in federal court against four members of Sigma Nu fraternity.

In the lawsuit -- Matthew Cronan holds the fraternity and four members liable for permanent injuries he suffered from a fall following a hazing incident.

Court documents state Cronan was encouraged to drink excessive amounts of alcohol during a pledge skit when he was a freshman in 2010.

Cronan is suing for more than $300,000 in healthcare expenses and permanent disability.
