Woman in meth bust charged with aggravated assault

A woman arrested in a drug bust in Sioux Falls is facing an additional charge for assault on her daughter.

Wednesday morning one of the School Resource Officers received info from a 15-year-old girl who said Schmidt assaulted her. The girl told the SRO that at approximately 11:00 pm Tuesday Schmidt yelled at the girl, pushed her to the ground and strangled her to a point at which she blacked out.

Police charged Heather Schmidt with aggravated assault shortly after she was arrested on meth charges.
