PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard says there's good news and bad news regarding state tax collections.
Daugaard says the revenue collected through the end of January almost exactly matches projections made when he presented his state budget proposal in December.
He says that means there's no indication that there will be extra money to spend beyond those earlier projections.
In his budget proposal, the Republican governor left $26.5 million unallocated for the next two years. He says that money is still available for the Legislature to spend on one-time uses.
